On November 4th Scottish CND will host the Festival For Survival. Taking place across two fantastic venues, Adelaides and the Renfield Centre in Glasgow, this event will bring together and incredible line up of campaigners, civic voices, think tanks, academics, cultural figures and international guests.
In a range of workshops, plenaries and cultural exhibits we will discuss and debate how we can make another world possible, with a focus on the twin threats to our planet: nuclear calamity and catastrophic climate change.
These issues fuse together to threaten the very habitat we rely on.
Today’s nuclear bombs are many times more destructive than those dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. All of the nuclear states including India and China are developing new weapons while the non-nuclear powers create new pressure towards disarmament through the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
At the same time, we need a full-scale mobilisation of resources to tackle climate change and environmental destruction.
Let's discuss how we can build a movement for nuclear disarmament and climate justice. Explore the speakers sessions and plans for the day below, and make sure you are part of what promises to be an inspiring and landmark event.
